Happy Tuesday!
The sun was out and so were the crowds. We ended up having a waitlist 65 minutes long for tables outside. The crush of people between 12:00 and 4:00 brought us back to August.
Rumor has it the prime minister of New Zealand came in today even. I guess we are a world-class place.
We had a great dinner of pasta, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, and half-backed chocolate chip cookies at the dorm. After assessing the nutritional value of the meal, I decided I better go for an after-dinner walk. It was already getting dark by the 6:45 when I left, but fortunately I ran into one of the JPHers who thought it'd be a good idea to hike to Seal Harbor in the dark, too. That helped because it was scary dark when we walked the carriage roads back after hanging out by the ocean and dropping off mail at the post office.
When I was getting ready for bed, my roommate, Ivan, showed me more of the stuff he bought during his big trip to Wal-Mart. I asked him how he was going to get all of his new purchases back to Eastern Europe at the end of the summer. He said, "Huh, I don't know man." He also showed me his child-size 10 Air Jordans he ordered a few weeks ago. Unlike Nenad who planned on returning his, Ivan had the idea of keeping the shoes until he has a child someday. I'm not sure if a pair of size 10 shoes is something I'd want to take with me for the next 10-20 years of life until they are called into service by a possible son.
