Happy Monday!
Back at work again today. Having the past two days off made it feel like I was back at work after a vacation. I don't think I'll take two-day weekends for granted ever again.
Today ended up feeling like the first day of fall. The morning air was cool and dry. All day at the info booth I had goosebumps as puffs of chilly air invaded the booth. I made the tactical error of wearing shorts and forgetting my fleece. I won't make that mistake again...until a few days from now when I forget my lesson.
We had a busy day at the JPH. From when we opened at 11:30 until 4:00 we had a waitlist for tables. No one told us, but apparently today was dog day. It seemed like every other party getting on the waitlist had a dog with them. Basically, everyone and their dog came in today.
This evening a contingent of us JPH'ers went to a ranger program called "Stars Over Sand Beach." The hour-long program consisted of the ranger explaining why the stars are so visible here in Acadia, the importance of the moon's effects on the tides, and telling the stories of the stars. Overall it was well worth it even with the slightly uncomfortable chill in the air.
Today the shoes my roommate ordered online came in. He's from Macedonia and wanted to buy some Nike's while here in America. Unfortunately, he did not realize that in the US we have children and adult shoe sizes. I don't think these size 13's will fit him...
