Nothing too noteworthy at work today. By 3:30 things had slowed down significantly, so with Jami and Edie's permission, I headed out at 4:15.
I had a quick bite to eat and then boarded the shuttle to Bubble Pond. There I took the Cadillac West Face Trail up to the summit of the highest point on the US Atlantic coast. It was a gorgeous late afternoon. Not too hot. Not too cold. Didn't even need a light jacket.
After summiting, I began my race against the sun to make it back down before the sun hid behind the horizon. It was fairly dark by the time I arrived back to the shores of Jordan Pond, but it didn't get scary dark while I was still out on the trail.
Before bed I opened up the packet of information from the Duke School of Divinity's admissions department. It is all pretty exciting stuff. Next week I'm planning on looking at the application and begin to mull over the essay prompts and such.
